The owner of this property purchased the site to preserve communal hiking trails from development into a quarry. The greenhouse and landscape are designed to support the owner’s home and medical practice. The building creates a dialogue between the sun and earth, optimizing solar orientation for the greenhouse and garden while tapping the earth for both passive root cellar cooling as well as winter heating.
