Palisades Bus Pavilion
This pavilion provides a gathering
space and informal bus stop for the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. The
structure is built primarily from stone and rammed earth, including soil salvaged
from a local excavation site. With assistance from earthen designers Sami
Akkach and Lorenz Kastner of Lehm Ton Erde, and Lola Ben-Alon of the Natural Materials
Lab, the project functioned as a class to teach students at Columbia GSAPP.
